Plan it My Way

The subject of Funerals can create challenges for some of us. We plan for our children (except for the first one I've been told), weddings, savings plans, vacations, retirement, what will be on the table for Sunday's dinner, yet we don't plan for death.

Often we leave out the last move, 'checkmate', if you will.

Some possible why's.

Why ? In the final summation it would seem more fitting to have the last say (at least once).
Who knows my favorite music, my favorite flower
or my penchant for simplicity better than me?
Who understands my wish to be cremated versus a
traditional burial better than me ? (or vice versa)
Can the Asset base I am leaving for my survivors
afford the 6 white stallions and solitary piper?
I know best ?...

...and The best reason ?

The best reason for me... that I made my loss as free
of stress as possible
; that there would be time for
friends and family to celebrate the memories and their time together
rather than be consumed by solving problems that fall
in the realm of the unknown...pine or oak ?...
...urn or hilltop ?...extravagant or simple ?

....so why not?
